Everything is going great, your working hard, you are happy, healthy, and then BAM! A small trigger can send our seemingly put together lives into disarray. It is easy to get lost in our world of chaos. From eating junk to never getting out of bed, it’s easy to get stuck when we do the same thing everyday, when we feel like we are never reaching our goals. I am constantly wanting to have a “fresh start” or just a general refresh on everything, whether it be my work, health, faith, or any personal goal or issue that I am going through. Whenever I get too stuck, these are some of the best things to help get back on track!

Breathe in Breathe outWhat to do when you feel stuck

I will first take a deep breath and remember that this feeling is only temporary. That life will go on and that I can achieve anything I put my mind to. Breathing can help calm you down, and just help you find a better perspective all together. One technique that I constantly use is the 4-7-8 technique. You first breathe in through the nose for four seconds, hold your breath for 7, and exhale for 8. It helps to lower the heart rate and help push the stress away!

Clean up

The song you have to sing your toddler to get them to gather up their toys is what you need to sing to yourself now! When your space is a mess, it sometimes feels like your life is to! That is a simple fix that will help you be motivated to keep on getting everything back together. Start with your desk, your room, or whatever space you are around the most. Starting with a small thing such as picking up all of the pens or dirty laundry and putting them away or get them ready for the wash can be just a stepping stone to make you feel motivated for some spring cleaning even if it is December. When your space is collected, so are you!

Schedule some ME time

When you are always taking care of others, it is easy to lose yourself in the daily tasks and commitments. It is important to schedule some down time for yourself to help keep you from going insane! A twenty minute bubble bath with some essential oils and wine or two hours watching the most dramatic season of the bachelor yer can be just the thing you need to keep your mind at bay and help you from not going insane.

When your mental to-do list is getting too long, it is always beneficial to make the mental list into a pen and paper list. It is always satisfying to check of a box, to cross of your big tasks and to feel a sense of accomplishment. Even small tasks are important to write down and satisfying to check off. They can help you get your thoughts in order and help you accomplish the tasks that you set out to do!

  1. Write a blog post
  2. Inspire EVERYONE
  3. Get groceries

I feel more motivated already!

Find inspiration for your motivation

When you can’t get any inspiration in yourself, it is a great idea to look for the inspo in other ways and places. Taking a long walk with your dog, scrolling through an aesthetic pinterest page, or reading your favorite novel, whatever can ground you, motivate you, and inspire you is what you should search for! Strive to inspire and find those who inspire you. Join a club of like minded people, call your mother for a chat about life, channel your inner thoughts and find inspiration in the world! It is easier said than done, but the more things you find that inspire you, the better off you will be!
